The Geyser at Weyburn

So I was watching last week’s new episode of Bones on Hulu when I suddenly started hearing what I thought was hail hitting against my window.   I open my blinds and behold a wall of water splashing against it, almost like someone took a hose to it.   Amazed at what must have been the biggest storm at Los Angeles ever, I decided to go see what my roommate thought of the situation.   As I walked, I suddenly realized that through the living room window, the outside seemed fairly clear, without a hint of rain.    So the picture above and below pretty much shows you what happened.   I later heard from a neighbor that the story is some idiot backed over the fire hydrant.    Luckily I had my windows fully closed, or else my room would have been completely flooded, which would have put quite a damper on my day.   It seemed some of the lower floors weren’t so lucky, especially the floor below me which has a balcony that you can see in the picture above.

It’s been almost a month since I last did anything with the website.   A lot of it is still a work in progress, but I haven’t had as much time as I would have liked to tinker with it this quarter.  I’m currently taking two graphics classes, CS269: AI Seminar and CS275: Artificial Life.   They’re both taught by Professor Terzopoulos, and occur right after each other in classrooms right next to each other.   Both are basically project courses, where the only grade in the class is determined pretty much by a single final term project.   I’m hoping I can combine both projects into one larger project since the topics between the two classes overlap quite a bit.   Otherwise, I’m still a T.A. for CS31, but with my experience from last quarter, things are a lot easier this time around.

I’ve been spending my free time these days playing Fallout 3.  In fact, I pretty much beat it a few days ago, although I still have a lot of content left to do.    I’ll get around to writing a personal review of it probably this weekend.   I still haven’t played Bayonetta yet, but I’m hoping to get done with it before Mass Effect 2 comes out on the 26th.
